Dog stabbed by owner's boyfriend in Athens County, Ohio

Athens County Sheriff's deputies were called to Loudermilk Road in Glouster after a report of a pitbull bite.

A male visitor to the residence called 911 when he said he was attacked by a pitbull, sustaining hand, arm, and stomach injuries. He also told dispatchers the pitbull had been stabbed. 

When deputies arrived on-scene, the caller was in the driveway, holding his hand in a towel, and his left hand bleeding profusely. The caller's left index finger was badly hurt and had a large cut on it.

He also had injuries to his right forearm and stomach. The caller stated that he had stayed with his girlfriend at the residence the night before, and the two began arguing in the morning.

The caller stated that during the argument, he grabbed a phone from her hands, and her pitbull attacked, biting him several times.

He stated the dog would not stop attacking him, so he stabbed the dog 3 times with his knife.

EMS personnel arriving on-scene, and the caller was taken to be treated. 

Dog Warden Jeff Koons arrived and transported the pitbull for medical attention.
