Athens County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a heroin bust that happened Wednesday night.
A tip led the Narcotics Enforcement Team to intercept a shipment of heroin on its way to Abany. The team stopped a car traveling on Route 33 in Nelsonville. A canine "indicated" on the vehicle, and it was searched.
Deputies found and seized one chunk and 13 individually-wrapped doses of heroin.
Deputies arrested David Barstow II, 34, and Shauntelle Barstow, 29, both of Albany, Ohio.
The Barstow's 18-month-old child was in the vehicle at the time and has been released to a family member.
Both Barstows were taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.
