Gun debate brings out protestors to WV State Capitol in Charleston

Posted: Updated:

The debate over gun control continues to boil over. About three dozen people gathered at the West Virginia State Capitol in Charleston on Friday morning to support the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Lawmakers in Washington, D.C. are debating a new set of restrictions in light of the Sandy Hook School shootings in Connecticut, in December 2012. Gun owners and enthusiasts say the federal government is going too far. "As gun owners we are citizens, without guns we are subjects and our founding fathers new that. They put it in our constitution, That all Citizens should have the right to bare arms,"

President Barack Obama has commissioned a panel to find ways to curb mass violence. A new set of restrictions on guns is expected to be part of the proposal.
