A bill moving through Congress could help working families.
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The Blennerhassett Island Museum of Regional History has installed of a new exhibit : Behind Closed Doors – American Bathrooms Through the Ages.
The exhibit collection features artifacts dating back to the 18th century. This unique exhibit opened February 1 and the items will be on display until December 31, 2013.
As part of the exhibit's history, Dr. Ray Swick, West Virginia State Park historian, will present two lectures titled the "History of Bathrooms…From Ancient Times to the 21stCentury" while this collection of historic potties and privies is on display. Dates for the lectures are: Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. and Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the museum conference room. There is no charge to attend the lectures.
General admission to the museum is $4 for adults and $2 for children (ages 3-12) which includes a tour of the bathroom exhibit.
The Blennerhassett Museum is a year-round facility that features three floors of exhibits and covers pre-history to twentieth century relics. Tours are self-guided.
