West Virginia State Police are investigating a domestic incident that happened around 3 a.m. Saturday morning in the Walton area of Roane County.

According to Sgt. Michael Baylous, Roane County 911 got a call from a female resident of Payne Ridge Road saying her husband, 34-year-old Robert Sherrill, was drunk and threatening her with a gun.

The victim said she ran out of the house and then heard several gun shots.

When troopers arrived, they noted several gunshot holes on the outside of the house.

State Police were able to get a wanton endangerment warrant for Sherrill. Sherrill exited the house and surrendered himself around 11 a.m. Saturday morning. He was taken to the Central Regional Jail.

Upon searching the house, Troopers discovered several gunshot holes inside as well.
