Charleston Police have released the identities in a murder-suicide late Sunday night.
Investigators said Patrick Price, 34 of Charleston, shot and killed Michael Cassell, 36, at his home on Red Oak Street.
Price broke into Cassell's house and shot him multiple times with a gun, before shooting himself in the head, detectives said.
A woman and child were able to escape the house unharmed.
Price is known to local law enforcement, police said.
Detectives are not releasing the motive at this time.
Charleston Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide after officers found two men dead on the city's West Side Sunday evening.
Dispatchers received reports of a shooting just after 9:30 p.m. Officers responded to 926 Red Oak St., where they found two men dead of apparent gunshot wounds, according to Det. J. Taylor, with the Charleston Police Department.
Charleston Police will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. on Monday to release more information on the incident.
