A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
A fire on East Pea Ridge leaves a family homeless and a woman in the hospital.
Fire broke out at 596 Fairwood Road in Barboursville just before 11 p.m. Monday.
The homeowner says he was downstairs and heard a crackling noise in the kitchen, when he went upstairs he saw the kitchen on fire and the house full of smoke.
He yelled for his family to get out, and his son had to climb out of his upstairs bedroom window onto the porch to escape.
Barboursville, Green Valley, and Ohio River Road fire departments were on scene and firefighters say the about half of the home is destroyed.
The homeowner says he acted quickly to get everybody out.
His wife was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
