A Chesapeake man is behind bars, charged with attacking someone with a crowbar during an attempted breakin.
Chesapeake Police officials say Travis Sparkman, 21, was seen attempting to break into a neighborhood building around 11:00 on Monday night.
When a neighbor tried to stop him, Sparkman is accused of hitting the neighbor with a crowbar.
Police found him at a nearby apartment, where he jumped from a second story window and ran. He was found a short time later along MacCorkle Avenue in Chesapeake. He is charged with malicious assault and breaking and entering.
At the time of this publication, a bond has not been set by a magistrate.
