UPDATE: Route 25 reopens after Nitro fatal accident

A woman is dead after an accident that injured three others in Nitro.

Cuda Lambert was transported to Thomas Memorial Hospital where she later passed away from her injuries.

Nitro Police were call responded to a motor vehicle accident along Rt. 25 near the westbound ramps of I-64 just before 8 PM Friday.

According to police, a vehicle driven by Tommy Jones Jr hit a vehicle being driven by Andrew Lambert.

Firefighters had to cut out Lambert and a passenger, and take them to CAMC General. They are listed in stable condition. 

Jones Jr was also transported to CAMC General with non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither alcohol nor the weather played a factor in the accident. 


Route 25 has reopened after an accident near the Pilot Truck stop in Nitro.


The Nitro Police Department is trying to reconstruct a crash in Kanawha County on Friday night.

Four people were injured and taken to the hospital, according to crews at the scene. Two of the injuries were serious.

It happened when two vehicles crashed on Route 25, near the Pilot Station in Nitro.

That area of Route 25 was shut down as crews cleaned up the mess.
