Mingo County is getting a new kidney center.
Marshall University's medical school is expanding specialty care services at the Larry Joe Harless Community and Health Center. The center is located in Gilbert.
Dr. Joseph I. Shapiro began seeing patients this week.
Other physicians with the school have been providing services at the center for several months.
The clinic is part of a statewide initiative to provide health care to the most rural areas of the state.
