Four candidates vying for the position of West Virginia University Institute of Technology's director of facilities have been invited to campus for a final round of interviews. The finalists are Floyd "Dan" Young, John Mills, Gary McKean and Dale "Allen" Heinze.

Finalists will interview with the campus CEO, executive staff, search committee, faculty, staff and students. Kevin Lawhon is chairman of the search committee, and others from the WVU and WVU Tech communities include Kenneth Howell, Randy Hudak, Dan Olthaus, Alan Swiger, Robert Carter and Steve Leftwich.

Young has more than 30 years of experience in facilities management and master planning. Most recently he was the director of facilities engineering at Guilford College in North Carolina.

Mills has 28 years of facility operations management experience. With a bachelor's degree in business from Coker College and a master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix, Mills is the vice president of field operations at Whiteside Properties.

McKean has more than 40 years of experience in facilities management and planning. He is the senior project manager at The J. Paul Getty Trust. McKean holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in bioenvironmental engineering from Oklahoma State University.

Heinze has more than 20 years of experience working in facilities maintenance and management. He holds a digital electronics diploma from the Morgantown Technical Center and is currently serving as the interim director of facilities at WVU Tech.
