As many as one in five American children under the age of 17 has a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year, according to a new federal report.
The Huntington Area Food bank teamed up with the Fireside Grill in Hurricane Thursday evening to help raise money to feed the hungry.
People were treated to fine food and drinks for donations and listened to the smooth jazz sounds of the Bob Thompson Unit.
Organizers say they hope to raise awareness about hunger in the Putnam county area and thought that would be a way to get people involved.
A silent auction was also held.
Anyone who wants to donate is asked to contact the Huntington Area food Bank.
