Driver flees crash scene after crash knocks down utility pole in Charleston
Charleston Police have arrested a man they say threatened to throw acid on his girlfriend.
Police arrested Brian Townsend Thursday night.
According to the criminal complaint, Townsend got into an argument with his girlfriend.
During the argument, he threatened to stab her with a screwdriver, police said.
He also told her he would throw acid on her if she didn't leave, police said.
Townsend has been charged with domestic assault.
Court records show he has two previous convictions for domestic battery.
