Kanawha County woman sentenced for role in boyfriend's stabbing death

Posted: Updated:

A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death in Kanawha County learned her fate on Monday.

Stacy McCormick, 30, was sentenced to one year in prison, minus credit for time already served.

That is the maximum sentence possible for involuntary manslaughter in West Virginia.

McCormick is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, David Snyder, to death on Charleston's West Side last summer.

She claims it was an accident, but Snyder's family members said the sentence was justice served. With time served, McCormick will be out of jail in two months.
