West Virginia University Hospitals-East's Board of Directors recently elected officers for 2013 and announced the appointment of two new members.

Officers elected for a one-year term include Charles Town banker Robert F. Baronner, Jr., chairman; Shepherd University president Suzanne Shipley, vice chairman; Martinsburg city leader Betty Gunnoe, secretary; and Martinsburg businessman D. Scott Roach, treasurer. 

WVU Hospitals-East includes City Hospital in Martinsburg and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.

David A. DeJarnett, a partner with the law firm Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, and Terry Hess, owner of JayDee's Family Fun Center in Inwood and president/CEO of Shenandoah Valley Brand Food & Beverage Co., were appointed to three-year terms on the board.

The 15-member WVUH-East board includes representatives from Berkeley and Jefferson counties as well as individuals from WVU's Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in Morgantown. 

The hospitals' parent organization is West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, which is part of West Virginia United Health System.

Others on the board include Fred Butcher, Richard Knapp, Keith B. Berkeley, Dr. Konrad C. Nau, Nicholas Trietsch, Jackee Long, Dr. David A. Baltierra, Rhonda Monroe and Dr. John A. Draper Jr.
