At least five people have been taken to the hospital, including three children, according to Ohio State Patrol.

13News has learned that three vehicles were involved in the accident that stopped traffic on Route 52.

Ohio State Patrol says at least two drivers and three children were taken to the hospital, but no one has life-threatening injuries.

Traffic on Route 52 has returned back to normal.

A crash on Route 52 in Lawrence County has traffic completely halted, as crews are on the scene of a crash that has hospitalized at least one and mangled a car.

A viewer sent 13 News photos from the scene.

Drivers are reporting that traffic has been backed up for miles in the westbound lanes, beginning where the wreck is, just west of the Ashland exit.

Drivers planning to use Route 52 this evening are advised to seek an alternative route.
