A doctor operating out of Logan County faces a drug-related charge after public complaints prompt a police investigation, according to the Logan County Sheriff's Department.
Dr. Fernando Gonzalez-Ramos was taken to Southwestern Regional Jail and charged with conspiracy to deliver controlled substances.
Police say Gonzalez used his West Logan office to operate an illegal drug operation. Police say when they arrived there was a line of patients extending out the door of a building with no running water.
Gonzalez's arrest was the result of a joint effort between West Virginia State Police, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Huntington Drug Task Force, US 119 Drug Task Force and the FBI, who searched the doctor's office before the arrest.
Police say Gonzalez's arrest is a major step in the area's war on drugs.
