A new crime fighting app is changing the way police and the public work together.
The Nitro Police Department is one of the first department's in the state to participate in the 'My Police Department' app.
It's available for free on both Androids and iPhones.
Chief Brian Oxley said the program has dozens of features that are helpful to both officers and citizens.
People can submit anonymous tips any time and any place.
"That's the one I really like because you can submit a tip anonymously, or you can put your information and an officer will call you back," Oxley said.
