Boyd County, KY and two branches now Code Adam sites

Posted: Updated:

The Boyd County Kentucky Public Library and its two branches are now Code Adam sites.

All library employees have been trained and know what to do if a child becomes missing while at the library.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Boyd County Public library is only the second in the state to launch Code Adam.

Code Adam consists of a special alert issued to employees, with in house procedures to follow if and when a visitor reports a missing child.

Code Adam is named in memory of Adam Walsh, whose abduction and murder brought the child abduction issue to national attention. It has become a search tool for lost and abducted children in thousands of businesses in the US.
