UPDATED: House fire in Jackson County, WV declared a total loss; no injuries reported

UPDATE:

What is believed to have started as an electrical fire destroyed a home on the 1900 block of Evans Road in Ripley Wednesday morning.

Firefighters say it was especially difficult to put out because of the number of books burning in different rooms in the house, and melting vinyl records in the attic, which caused the fire to spread.

The home's metal roof helped contain the heat and feed the flames.
