A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's what the 14-year-old who was arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt could face, following his arraignment today.
A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's the penalty that 14-year-old Jared Marcum, who was arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt, could face, now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward with it's obstructing an officer charge against him.
According to police records, the Huntington Police Dept.
responded to an accident on I-64 near an exit ramp on March 5.
When police arrived on the scene, the found William Bailey,
the driver of the vehicle, and described him as having slurred speech, acting
paranoid, defiant and combative.
Bailey refused to leave the vehicle and police used a
wristlock to pull him from the vehicle and handcuff him.
Records say police noticed Bailey holding his right hand
under the seat until he was removed.
They found an open folding knife under the seat. Police also found synthetic marijuana and
paraphernalia in the car.
Bailey was taken to the HPD and charged with driving under
the influence of drugs, obstructing and driving without insurance.
