Five people have been arrested and charged in a meth lab bust in Wayne.

Mayor Mickey Sanders said the West Virginia State Police, Wayne County Sheriff's Department, Wayne Police Department and the drug task force found people with a working meth lab at a trailer on Bluefield Street around 1 p.m.

He said the residents, Brandon and Betty Woods, live there and their kids were at school at the time.

Police also charged Paul Webb, David Workman, and Stanley Peterman of Wayne in the bust.

The Woods are charged with operating a clandestine meth lab, conspiracy, aiding and abetting, and child endangerment.

The other three face the same charges except child endangerment at this time.

Police expect to make two more arrests, and more charges may be pending.

All five are at the Wayne jail and will be taken to Western Regional jail until they are arraigned in magistrate court on Thursday.
