YMCA water aerobics instructor Pam Slack said there are big benefits to working out in the water.

"You have more range of motion, you have no impact or very little impact, it makes you feel young," Slack said.

Slack said the workout is a good idea for people of all ages.

"You can do water at any age, you can do it from 5-years-old, to, we have one lady, who is 93-years-old."

Pam Slack says you can get a good workout in the water, and it is good for your joints too.

"It's very therapeutic, and a lot of people that have had surgeries, the doctor makes them come in and do water because you can get a lot of benefit from the just the water and the resistance of the water," she said.

Pam Slack said you can do the workout year-round.

"They have some water aerobics outside, some inside, a lot of people like to come inside because of weather."

Pam Slack said it is a good idea to take a class if you want to start working out in the water.

"This is a great place to start if you want to start an exercise program, because I don't think you get discouraged as bad, because when you get in the water, things you can't do on the floor, you are amazed at what you can do in the water," she said.
