CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Griffin Dempsey scored 26 points, Mychal Johnson had a triple-double and St. Joseph earned its record fifth consecutive girls Class A championship Saturday with a 73-32 win over St. Marys.

It marked the third time in four years that St. Joseph beat St. Marys in the finals.

Top-seeded St. Joseph (25-1) broke the mark of four Class A titles it shared with the Mercer Christian teams that won from 1999-2002. St. Joseph tied the all-classes mark with Summers County, which won five Class AA crowns from 2007-2011.

Johnson had 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Asia Petitte added 18 points for St. Joseph.

Dempsey made seven 3-pointers to break the Class A single-game tournament record.
