A string of suspicious fires from May of 2011 to June of 2012 had neighbors in Summersville concerned for their property and for their safety.
ASHLAND, Ky. -
The Kentucky State Police is investigating a two vehicle crash that killed one driver.
The collision happened around 1:55 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of US 23 and The Grant Bridge in Greenup County, KY.
27-year-old Benjamin R. Johnston of Portsmouth, OH was driving a moped traveling Southbound on US 23 and attempted to turn left onto the Grant Bridge. 44-year-old Jamie Miller, also of Portsmouth, was driving Northbound in a Ford Explorer. KSP reports that it appeared that Miller had failed to stop at the red light at the intersection and struck Johnston.
Drug usage is suspected as a factor in the collision.
Johnston was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 2:05 p.m..
Miller and another passenger in the SUV were unharmed.
Any charges are pending completion of the investigation.
