Huntington Bank has selected Richard "Rick" Whisner its community president for the Charleston region.
Whisner will continue his role as senior vice president and commercial team leader for the Charleston region and will direct the community efforts and provide leadership for Huntington Bank's Charleston team. His office will be located at the Huntington Bank branch office in downtown Charleston.
The South Charleston resident has more than 25 years of banking and financial services experience in the Charleston area, including positions as president and CEO of the Bank of Mingo and senior vice president and regional corporate banker for BB&T, where he managed upper middle market clients.
A native of South Charleston, Whisner earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from West Virginia State University. He is a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking in Baton Rouge.
He formerly served as board chairman for Saint Francis Hospital and the YMCA of Kanawha Valley. He is the treasurer and a board member of the Polymer Alliance Zone.
