CHARLESTON, WV -

Rachel Coffman has been hired as the program manager for the Appalachian region of Dollar Energy Fund.

Coffman will oversee the West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee hardship programs, which provide grant funds for limited-income families needing assistance with their utility bills.

The Fund partners with 10 utility companies in the Appalachian region to administer the program. The organization is funded by private contributions matched dollar for dollar by utility companies.

Coffman recently served as account executive at TSG Consulting in Charleston. She earned her master's in business administration from the University of Charleston and her bachelor's of arts in public relations from Marshall University, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Coffman also is involved in the community, serving on the board of directors for Goodwill Industries of the Kanawha Valley, the Friends of the Clay Center and Generation Charleston.

In 2012, Coffman was awarded the Young Professional of the Year Award from the West Virginia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and through the years has won several Crystal Awards honoring her work in public relations. Recently, Coffman was accepted into the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Leadership West Virginia class of 2013.

Coffman replaces Danielle Snidow. After directing the program for five years, Snidow is stepping down to focus on her business, Uncork and Create in Charleston.
