CHLOE, Wv. -

A fire that began around 5 a.m. Thursday in Chloe, West Virginia claimed the lives of three children, 7-year-old Ryan, 6-year-old Patricia and 5-year-old Aryanne and their grandmother, 57-year-old Darlene Gooslin.  The father of the children, Benjamin Jackson was seriously burned in the blaze.  He, and his son David were transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment.

According to close family friends, Darlene was helping Benjamin raise his four children in their mobile home on Mud Fork Road in Calhoun County.  They were planning on moving out of the home that burned down within the next two weeks.

Close friend Brittney McCoy grew up in what she referred to as, the close-knit community of Chloe. She says this fire affects just about everyone that lives in the neighborhood.

"Darlene was a very, very wonderful woman," McCoy said. "She'd help anybody if she could.  She was a very good person."

Robert King lives nearby the home that burned down Thursday morning.

"I almost came to tears one time just thinking about those kids," King says.  "You think, you know, that can happen to you, especially living in a trailer.  Trailers are notorious for those."
