A bomb scare shook up a community in Kanawha County on Thursday.

It happened around 5 p.m. in the 9000 Block of Florida Street in Marmet. A bomb tech and Kanawha County Deputies were called to the scene.

Deputies said they found what they describe as a "shake and bake bomb" in the front yard of a home. It's a bomb made of bleach and detergent according to crews at the scene. Deputies said that the bomb discovered in this particular case was not potent enough to do any real damage.

Investigators don't know who made the bomb at this point. They are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. Callers may remain anonymous.
