Three people are facing drug charges after detectives seized $28,000 in powder cocaine in Ashland Thursday night.
Denise N. Carter, 28, and Laurel Vaughn, 36, both of Ashland, were charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Also arrested was Omar P. Henry, 35, of Covington. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering, according to a news release from the Boyd County Sheriff's Office.
The drug bust happened about 8:30 p.m. on Prospect Avenue. Investigators were executing a search warrant after an undercover buy was made at the home. Officers found 280 grams of cocaine as well as the money used for the undercover buy.
The news release also states when officers got to the scene Henry was trying to get rid of the cocaine.
The three were taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.
