Virginia Wesleyan College is sponsoring a Graduate Studies Symposium: A
Celebration of Scholarship April 17 in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the
Performing Arts, the college announced.
This
symposium is geared toward recent and current graduate students of Wesleyan.
Qualified
students are encouraged to submit scholarly work or creative endeavors created
in 2012 and 2013 including original research focused on an issue or problem in the
student's field, a project the student executed individually or as part of a
group, a literary work you will read at the symposium, or a critical
review/paper of literature and/or past research on a particular topic, the
college's news release listed.
"As
our graduate programs have grown over the past five years, we believe it is
important that we share with the Wesleyan and broader community the scholarship
that occurs every day in each of our graduate programs whether novel ideas as
solutions to problems, creative works, or scholarly research," Kay Long, dean
of graduate studies, said in the release.
