Dunbar and Nitro Fire Departments responded to a house fire Saturday evening.
The call came in around 5:30 p.m. The home is located in the 400 block of Dupont Avenue.
Crews on the scene told 13NEWS that a family of four made it out of the home without injury.
The fire started in the kitchen and quickly spread to other parts of the home.
Damage is estimated to be around $20,000.
Lt. Robert Ely of the Nitro Fire Department said a little girl living at the home said there was a cat inside. Crews found the cat, unresponsive, in the basement.
They then brought the cat out of the home and administered CPR. They also used a respirator on her, one that is specifically made for animals.
Chloe was en route to the Animal ER nearby and is expected to be fine.
