UPDATE:

A man has been arrested and charged with two armed robberies in Putnam and Kanawha Counties, according to authorities.

Investigators said Justin Brafford, 31, has been charged with first degree robbery.

He is currently in the South Central Regional Jail with bail set at $50,000.

Investigators said they recovered stolen cash and a pistol after they arrested Brafford.

He was taken into custody without incident at the Wal-Mart in Cross Lanes.

According to the West Virginia Lottery Commission, West Virginia taxpayers do not foot the bill when these gaming parlors are robbed.

Officials said state money is funneled through the gaming systems electronically.  They said the actual cash these robbers get away with come at the expense of the business owner.

Nitro Police said they arrested the man at the Wal-Mart in Cross Lanes a few hours ago.

The suspect is currently being interviewed at the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said it all started at Texas Jim's video lottery parlor in Putnam County.

They said the man walked into the business, drew a gun on the clerk, and made off with several thousand dollars in cash.

A couple of hours later, deputies said the same man walked into Kelly's Cafe in Jefferson.

They said he drew a gun on the clerk and forced her into the bathroom.  He then proceeded to steal thousands of dollars in cash, deputies said.  They said he emptied out the lottery machines.

Nitro Police found a man matching the description at the Wal-Mart in Cross Lanes.  He was taken into custody and charges are pending.

Authorities are not sure if additional people were involved.  Call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department at 304-357-0169 if you have any information.
