Construction on Route 10 prompts concerns in Logan

LOGAN -

Some motorists aren't happy about construction along Route 10 in Logan. Part of the road on what is called the boulevard has been blocked for a while now and four lanes have been condensed to two.

"I think that traffic is a mess," said motorist Richard Curtis. "I think they need to do something else some way to divert traffic around."

Construction is projected to last two years.

Motorists have complained that signs in the area aren't clear and the new traffic patterns are confusing.

West Virginia Division of Highways spokeswoman Carrie Bly said when it comes to the traffic pattern changes due to the roadwork the WVDOH understand the public's concerns.

"Transforming the road from four lanes down to two lanes is a big change, but the DOH is taking the proper safety measures during the construction by using safety cones and barrels, extra lighting and messaging boards to alert the public of the work zone," Bly said. "If needed, additional measures can be taken to help better guide drivers through this section of the roadway."
