Greenhouse owners say cold weather hindering gardeners

Posted: Updated:

As cold temperatures continue to stay in our area, local greenhouse owners say their business is slow compared to this time last year.

They say gardeners are anxious to start planting, but the cold and snow is holding up their crops.

"People were really in the mood when we had a lot of warm days in January and February and people were really excited and now its really slowed down," Nikki Pursley of Blatt's Greenhouse said.

Workers say business was booming for a little while, but the cold snap is definitely slowing things down.

They say folks can still plant cold weather crops like cabbage, broccoli, and onions.
