CHARLESTON -

A Sissonville man is recovering and police are looking for a suspect connected to a stabbing Friday morning on Charleston's West Side.

The call came in just after 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Elm Street and Main Street. Chris Jones reported that he was stopped and robbed of a backpack and cash.

"He said he wanted my backpack, I said no. He pulled a knife out and went to lunge at me. I blocked it and hit my arm," said Jones. "This is the bright part of the morning. I didn't expect someone to come at me like that."

Jones was bandaged but was not transported to the hospital.

Charleston Police are currently looking for a suspect described as a man in his 20's wearing a black hoodie.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Charleston Police.
