BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV -
Peter Checkovich, president of Martinsburg-based Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, this month signed the Early College Dual Enrollment Partnership with David Banks of Morgan County Schools.
Classes will begin with the fall semester and will be available to students attending both high schools in Morgan County. Courses will be held at Berkeley Springs High School, Paw Paw High School and at the new Blue Ridge CTC Morgan County Center.
The partnership gives Morgan County high school students the ability to register for general education courses at no cost. The coursework will allow students to start a college transcript while they are still in high school and use credits toward a degree at any West Virginia state college or university.
Blue Ridge offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs as well as workforce development training. The school's main campus opened last year at 13650 Apple Harvest Drive just south of Martinsburg.
