A 24-inch natural gas pipeline exploded on Reids Ridge in Marshall County outside of Cameron around noon today.

No injuries were reported. All roads in the area were reopened by 3 p.m., and residents were allowed to return home.

According to WTRF-TV, Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Cecil said 911 calls began coming in at about 12:15 p.m. on Friday.

Residents of Reids Ridge and Fish Ridge in Marshall County were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Crews shut off the gas, and no fire was reported. The 8- to 10-foot section of pipe was located underground, and the force of the explosion unearthed the pipe.

Several sheriff's departments, volunteer fire departments and the West Virginia State Police were on the scene.
