Carmen Prati-Miller has been appointed manager external affairs for Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power, both subsidiaries of American Electric Power.
Prati-Miller joined AEP in 1990 as a customer service representative at Wheeling Power.
She assumed the role of public affairs administrator in 1994 and transferred to Ohio Power in 1997 as a corporate communications representative. Earlier, Prati-Miller served as senior communications consultant with AEP Ohio and managed communications for the company's residential consumer energy efficiency programs.
In her new role, Prati-Miller will work with Ohio and Marshall county leaders, local and state governmental officials and economic and community development organizations. She also will handle internal and external communication support and serve as the company's media contact for the Northern Panhandle.
Her promotion took effect Feb. 2.
Prati-Miller is a lifelong resident of the Ohio Valley. She is a member of Rotary, the Martins Ferry (Ohio) Hall of Honor Committee and the board of directors of the Steubenville (Ohio) Diocese Catholic Charities.
