It's been 126 days since we last saw the Marshall football team in action when the Thundering Herd lost its season finale to East Carolina ending any bowl game dreams.

In 156 days from Tuesday, the Herd will take on Miami (OH) in the first game of the regular season at home.

There's still a lot to be done between now and then, but the first step towards next season was taken on Tuesday with the Herd's first spring practice in winter-like conditions in Huntington.

It was day one of the allotted 15 spring practices allowed by the NCAA which includes the spring game on April 27.

Tuesday's practice was all about getting accustomed to the six new assistant coaches,  and of course, dealing with frigid temperatures which brought, rain, sleet and snow to Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
