Sue Bonham didn't waste any time hugging four firefighters from the Sissonville Volunteer Department Monday.
Authorities have released the identities in a deadly accident Thursday morning.
Investigators said Angela Renee Walker, 46, was driving a Hyundai the wrong way on I-77 when she hit a Chevrolet pickup truck head on.
The driver of the truck, Edward Pete Bryant, 48, was unresponsive at the scene.
Bryant was on his way to work, authorities said.
EMS tried to revive him. He was pronounced dead at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Walker is recovering at CAMC.
Authorities said alcohol might have been a factor in the accident.
Investigators will have to wait for toxicology reports to see if Walker was under the influence at the time of the crash.
UPDATE at 5 AM:
Authorities confirm to 13 News reporter Lisa Robbins that the driver of the truck involved in the accident has died of his injuries. His name is being withheld, pending notification of the family.
The driver of the car has been transported to the hospital with some injuries, but has been said to be under the influence at the time of the crash.
Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are actively reconstructing the accident scene at this time, due to the accident occurring just outside of Charleston city limits.
Deputies tell 13 News the initial call came in of a car versus a tractor-trailer, but that information was later shown to be incorrect.
13 News reporter Lisa Robbins says a woman was driving this car the wrong way on I-77, when she hit a truck head on.
Both drivers had to be cut out of their vehicles.
Alcohol is being looked into as a factor.
Both southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Interstate 77 are closed at this time.
A car headed the wrong way on Interstate 77 has hit a truck head on, trapping the occupants inside the vehicle.
The accident occurred just past the Westmoreland Road exit on I-77 northbound.
As a result, the northbound lanes are shut down at this time.
13 News has been told one of the people inside the car is unresponsive at this time.
