An ongoing dispute led to the beating of a husband and wife, according to police.

Eric Keith Adkins, 37, and Amanda Kay Thompson, 32, both from Huntington, were both charged with unlawful assault. A 14-year-old male from Huntington was also charged. Detectives with the Huntington Police Department said a husband and wife were walking along Madison Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Thursday when Adkins, Thompson, and the teen approached the couple.

Detectives said Thompson pushed the wife to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked her. Adkins and the teen chased the husband with a baseball bat to the Marathon Station parking lot where they kicked him and hit him with the baseball bat.

The wife was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center to be treated for facial injuries. The husband only had minor injuries and refused treatment.

Detectives said this incident is because of an ongoing fight between the victims and those charged.

Adkins and Thompson were taken to the Western Regional Jail and are expected in magistrate court April 5. The teen was taken to the Shell Center.
