Nitro Police are investigating a burglary that happened just after 6 p.m. Friday, March 30th on Brookhaven Drive in Nitro, W. Va.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim was about to pull into his driveway when he saw a man running from the back of his house toward his side yard. The victim then saw the suspect then jump into a car and take off.

The victim followed the suspect for nearly a mile, got the license plate number, and descriptions of the people in the car, before going home to call the police.

When police arrived, they found numerous items strewn about the house, garage, and back yard.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers received a tip that the suspect's vehicle was heading up Norwood Road in the Brookhaven subdivision. When police arrived, they found that the victim had blocked the roadway with his car so that the suspects would not escape.
