Concord University's Spanish program is hosting a three-day U.S. Latino Film Festival April 1-3 in recognition of Chicano Civil Rights leader César Chávez, the university recently announced.

The films are "The Girl," on April 1, "Aquí y Allá." on April 2 and "A Better Life," on April 3, according to the university's news release.

Screenings will begin at 6 p.m. nightly in Room 304 of the Rahall Technology Center on Concord's Athens campus.

Each screening will be followed by a short, moderated discussion about U.S. Latino issues highlighted in the film. The event will conclude at approximately 8:30 p.m. each night.

The public is invited to attend the film festival at no charge.

This project is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
