Baseball season has arrived!

Despite temperatures in the high 40s, the South Atlantic League baseball season will begin on Thursday for the West Virginia Power.

The Power will open up the 2013 season at home vs. the defending league champs Asheville Tourists.

This year's Power team includes eight of the top 20 prospects in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

On Tuesday, the media got to meet this year's new team and manager.

Last year's manager, Rick Sofield, was promoted as the Pittsburgh Pirates' first base coach.

This year, the Power brought in 36-year-old and former major league outfielder Michael Ryan to manage the Power.

Ryan told 13 Sports Director John Sabol that he feels he can use his age and experience to better relate to his players.
