The winners are in for the 2013 contest to see who does the most walking at the West Virginia State Capitol.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, D-W.Va., helped present trophies on Thursday for the 7th annual Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, "Walking Works Capitol Challenge".

Individuals were awarded for the most steps during this legislative session and the most improved. The coveted Team Trophy goes to the State Senate team, which won for the first time.

That group walked 10,304 steps, .all in an effort to raise awareness about living a healthy lifestyle. "It's not really about competition. It's because my parents died. My mother had a heart attack. My dad had congestive heart failure. So it's like preventative maintenance, so that's why I walk," said Wanda Casto.

This was a four-week competition between the House, Senate and Governor's office. Together they walked almost 5,000 miles.
