West Virginia University's School of Music will present a Spring Choral Concert titled "Songs of America" at 3:15 p.m. April 14 in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.

The concert will feature various choral ensembles, such as the WVU Choirs, the WVU Choral Union and the Women's Choir, and will be directed by Jeffery Redding, the new director of the WVU Choral Program.

"There are many different music genres that influence American history," he said. "This concert will specifically focus on a few of those, including folk, love, Broadway, Negro spirituals, patriotic and jazz. Our veterans will also be honored at this concert."
