Four people were arrested in a drug bust in Greenup County, Friday April 12th.

According to Sheriff Cooper, deputies tried to pull a car over on Main Street in South Shore, Ky. in reference to a Drug Interdiction investigation. This led police to a home on 5th Avenue in South Shore, Ky., where law enforcement found 61 grams of heroin, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.

Police also found a large sum of money at the house.

While law enforcement were searching the home, one of the suspects, 24-year-old Charles Fletcher, of McDermott, Ohio, got physical with deputies and tried to leave the house with narcotics.

As a result of the altercation, Deputy Cody Fuller sustained a broken hand. South Shore Police Chief Bill Swords was also injured. Both were taken to OLBH Hospital.

Police arrested Fletcher, along with 23-year-old Joshua Glass, of Portsmouth, Ohio, 28-year-old Aaron Higginbotham, and 31-year-old Rudy Nunley, both of South Portsmouth, Ky. They are charged with trafficking a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
