The West Virginia AFL-CIO will mark Workers Memorial Day at 2 p.m. April 28 at the Willow Island Memorial in Pleasants County.

The union sets aside a day each year to remember workers who have suffered and died because of workplace hazards.

This is the 25th annual observance of Workers Memorial Day in West Virginia. This year's ceremony will honor the 22 workers who died as a result of a workplace accident in West Virginia in 2012.
