    Alpha Natural Resources announced July 31 that 11 affiliated coal mines and other facilities in West Virginia could be idled by mid-October, potentially causing 1,100 to be laid off.

UPDATE: Antonio Collins has been arrested in Columbus Ohio for the outstanding warrants from the Charleston Police Department Criminal Investigation Division,  on the two counts of attempted murder.   More details to come.

UPDATE:

During a press conference, Charleston Police described the incident, saying 32-year-old Antonio Collins bumped into another man while walking into the 7-Eleven on Washington Street West.

Collins then pulled a gun on the victim and shot him in the head. He then turned around and followed a friend of the victim to the back of the store and shot him as well.

Police say Collins then turned around, smiled at the victim's girlfriend, grabbed a bottle of water, and walked calmly out of the store.

Charleston Police have a suspect in this morning's shooting. Dispatchers say there is a BOLO for Antonio Collins, known as "Shake", who is "extremely unstable and dangerous".

He is described as a light-skinned black male, 6' 1'', with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jeans, and tanned boots.

Law enforcement have been advised to use extreme caution.

Charleston Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 3:15 a.m. Saturday at the 7-Eleven along the 800 block of Washington Street West in Charleston.

According to dispatchers, two people were injured and transported to a local hospital. No word on the extent of their injuries.
